Hello, My name is Codrut B. and I am a musician from Romania. I graduated with my Master's Degree from San Francisco Conservatory in Vocal Performance. I have performed as a Singer/Pianist all around the world like Japan, Germany, Romania, the USA, Spain, Italy, etc. I am the founder and Artistic Director at Chicago Summer Opera. An International program training professional opera singers. Since I started the program my students have sung in very important places like the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, etc
I start teaching voice and piano when I was 20 years old. Since then I had countless students. I am available to teach students from novice to expert. In Romania, I taught at the Music Highschool in Brasov and also the Arts academy in the same city. In the USA I worked with Northwestern University, Depaul University, Roosevelt University. Also with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Opera Theatre, Madison University WI, San Francisco Conservatory. Since I moved to the USA I kept a constant private studio.
The student will learn music theory and of course also how to sing or play the piano. I always use a combination of what the student needs and also what the student wants to play.For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
Everyone can play or sing. I will be there to guide every student at their own pace. I always tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs..
