Overview:

I am a very passionate and motivated instructor who loves with with students and sharing my love for music. I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor's Degree in Music Educaton with a euphonium emphasis. I have had the opportunity to march Drum Corps, play in Concert Bands, Wind Ensembles, Orchestras, Quintets, Quartets, Pep Bands and Brass bands which has shaped me into the musician and teacher I am today.

EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience began in the fall of 2010, when I started my college career. Since then I have been teaching private lessons and have also taught in group homes. I encourage short, frequent practice sessions with a variety or repertoire to keep students motivated. I am always looking to bring on new students of all ages!

METHODS USED

For beginning students, I typically start with Hal Leanord's Essential Elements. Once the student has a grasp of their instrment and the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire and tecnique exercises. I will try to find out what the student is interested in to help guide my instruction and keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter the age or ability level. 

LESSON STYLE

It is important to me that each student progress at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. I make sure to always acknowledge accomplishments to help fuel the student's desire to progress and make them eager to learn more. By finding out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
