Finalist in Showtime at the Apollo 2017
I am a passionate, optimistic and hardworking person who loves teaching music. I believe music is a great way to express oneself. I always want my students to feel comfortable in their lessons as it is a safe place. I also encourage them to reach outside their comfort zones and challenge themselves. My experience performing and teaching has shaped me into who I am today and I have learned so much from my own mentors. I have students who take lessons for many reasons, to build technique, music therapy, or just for fun. Whatever your reason may be I hope you choose me to be your coach.
I have had the opportunity to perform on various stages all over new York city and in other states /countries. Every experience has shaped me into the individual I am today. I don't various genres and also write my own music. I have a band and are currently working on our SO to be released soon. I have worked with many individuals from various Broadway shows and who have also been on camera in tv and film. I had the opportunity to be a finalist in Showtime at the Apollo I'm 2017. I am currently in grad school to pursue a career in music education as I love teaching others the knowledge I have acquired over the years to help them be the best performer they can be!
I start off lessons with a brief chat to know your goals. I want to hear your weaknesses and strengths as a performer as well as your experience level from advanced to none. Tell me about yourself! Then I go into vocal warmups and breathing exercises to find the connection between your diaphragm and your voice. I want to know what artists and styles you are drawn too and some of the songs you have sung and or want to learn. I like to do listening activities to strengthen your ear and may even dabble into some music theory so you can learn basic knowledge on how to read music.
I want to see my students grow into the artists and individuals they want to be. I learn just as much from you as you do from me. I am very easy going guy can be firm when needed. I will give brief homework assignments to help you learn and keep up with your skills. I expect respect and for my students to out forth the effort. If I am teaching them I ask for their dedication and drive. I am open to questions and encourage my students to reach out to me. I am not only a voice teacher but a coach.
