Overview:
I graduated from Denison High School in 2018 at the top of my class with honors. I'm currently studying Music Performance at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. I have a passion for music and I want to spread that passion to others through teaching and playing. I am primarily a jazz player, but I enjoy playing and teaching all genres of music. I'm available to teach anywhere between Sherman, Texas and Durant, Oklahoma. I can give lessons in your home or you can come to me in Durant, Oklahoma or Denison, Texas.
EXPERIENCE
I began giving saxophone lessons while I was in high school. I enjoy spreading my love of music to others so that they too can use music to help themselves and others who they may meet. Music is something that must be passed down to younger generations in order to keep it alive for future generations. I participated in the top bands every year from 6th grade up through my senior year of high school. I played alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and bass clarinet in Denison's Symphonic Band for 4 years and I played lead tenor in their Jazz Ensemble for 3 years. I also play with the Austin College Wind Symphony, the Greater Texoma Jazz Ensemble, and in the orchestra for musicals with the Sherman Community Players. I am currently playing tenor saxophone in the SOSU Symphonic Winds, first tenor in the SOSU Jazz Band, and I play tenor in a jazz combo named Wombo Combo.
METHODS USED
I meet with all my students and talk with them about what their goals are before we get started. Once I learn more about the student, I will personalize lesson plans that I believe will be the best fit for that individual student. Everyone learns differently, so I do not use one form of teaching across the board for all my students. I use many different resources that I believe will lead to the best advancement in skill for the student based upon the student's abilities and learning style. I will also teach the student what they would like to learn along with anything I believe will help them better their skills.
LESSON STYLE
I will do my best to personalize my teaching style to fit each student so that they can become as successful as possible. I enjoy teaching everyone from the aspiring professional saxophonist to the hobby player and will base my teaching on the goals they have set so that they may achieve them. I want my students to enjoy our lessons while also learning during them. I believe teaching people what they are interested in and in a way that is enjoyable is the most productive way for them to learn.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
