I have been teaching for 40 years . Very experienced with students starting at age 5. I was director of music education for 14 music schools in Southern California and now teach 1 day a week at music academies in corona on saturdays plus my private lessons done in my studio in Anaheim or the students homes .I started playing when I was 8 years taking both piano and organ lessons . I was a music theory major . I also enjoy competing in ballroom dancing and still do this now . I think you will really enjoy your lessons
Besides my music theory training I’ve been trained as a keyboard artist in the past for such companies as Yamaha, kawaii, and others . My students enjoy their lessons while be trained to be musicians for the the future . I have references available. I started studying at the age of 8 both piano and organ . My students now are all piano but I do have quite a bit of experience as an accompanist for singers as well . I was a music theory major in both high school and college . If a student wishes to learn a particular song I have no problem with that also
I’m pretty comfortable with a variety of methods but for children I enjoy using Alfred’s method either for younger children or children over 7 . I also use Alfred’s all in o e adult method along with a their greatest hits book to add more repetitive . All the series I use come with a cd of prerecorded tracks to play along with so it’s like you’re playing with the band . All my students use a cd player as well. I’m just as comfortable in a weighted keyboard as I am an acoustic piano . I’m looking forward to meeting you
I truly enjoy teaching and live to see how well my students progress .my teaching style has to adapt for each student . I can’t teach a 5 year old in the same manner as I teach a 79 year old student and I have both. A good teacher also needs to understand the wants and needs of each student thus the teaching method and books may change for each student especially if there’s more than one person in the family learning to play . I normally suggest 30 minute lessons but as the student progresses that may change to 45 or even an hiurn

Dale has been teaching my 4 year old daughter for the last 5 months now, and she has greatly improved compared to the last piano teacher she had. Dale constantly adjusts his lessons based on my daughter’s progress and interest. He’ll throttle back and will repeat lessons until she has mastered a song or concept. I highly recommend Dale for private/one-on-one piano lessons. He’s a hidden gem, and I’m glad my wife found him on Facebook.

After retiring from a 30 year real estate career I decided to start checking off items on my bucket list. Learning to play the piano was in the top 3. I was hesitant at first because of my age, and I'm not a quick learner and thought the whole idea might be silly. Then a friend gave me keyboard.......it seemed like fate. Fast forward 2 plus years and thanks to Dale, (who I chose online because of his positive ratings), I am now the proud owner of a beautiful upright piano and playing tunes that friends and family actually recognize. It has truly brought joy to my life. I give most of the credit to Dale, for without his patience and understanding, I probably would've given up by now. He has a very calm demeanor and a way of explaining things in a way that I can understand, both verbally and on the keys. I also appreciate how he knows how to adjust the pace when he senses I'm either having a little trouble or when I'm on a roll and ready to continue on.

Dale is a wonderful piano teacher to our 3 kids. We are very happy with the progress each kid is making over the pass year. Our kids range from 7 to 12 and he takes the right approach with each kid based on their age, attention span and skill level. It is always great to listen to them play their songs.
