7 years professionally teaching music at The Foxboro Music Den (all ages) BBA, Plymouth State University, Business Adminstration AAS, Dean College, Business Administration
2014-2016 Played in 2 of the top 3 wedding bands in the North East (Boston Common and Park Street Band)
I have a strong passion towards music that developed early as a child. During my life i have had the opportunity to take lessons from some of the greatest guitar players that ive ever heard and integrate their teaching methods and styles into my lessons. Recently ive played with 2 of the top 3 wedding bands in the Northeast (Boston Commen and Park Street Band) all of these things have pushed my limits musically to allow me to play a broad range of music. I use this knowledge to make a solid game plan based on the individuals personality and ability.
For the past 7 years i have taught music professionally at a private studio (Foxboro Music Den) to students of all ages. Ive had the privilege of teaching all styles of music and creating custom plans for each individual based on their learning styles. Ive performed all over the USA in various bands and have recorded music of all styles in studios all over the country as well. I have been playing music professionally for 14 years and have been playing in general for over 26 years. Im passionate about teaching music and helping my students create a lasting bond with music.
For beginning students i usually start with Hal Leonard's music books to get the fundamentals of music theory down. I also like to integrate learning styles of music and songs that my students want to learn from artists or bands they may like. I find that the best way to ensure a strong connection to the process of leaning is making it fun and creating a game plan for learning based on the individual. Once we get the basics down, focusing on specific things such as solo technique or a specific style of music comes into play and becomes integrated into the lesson plan.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a lifelong passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses an his or her pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals and creating a custom tailored game plan to achieve these markers. I encourage a no pressure environment where my students feel safe to make mistakes while learning, after all music should be fun!! The further we get through material the more comfortable they feel asking questions and branching out into new forms of music they learn along the way.
