I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2010, I graduated from Fundação das Artes de São Caetano do Sul (Brazil) with a concentration in classical piano. I've performed and participated in several music festivals throughout South America and the United States, including: Oregon Piano (2018), Oregon University, Musik Fest - Bethlehem - PA. As a composer, I've written for musical theater, cinema and regular works. In 2019 I wrote a piano album for kids (Experimental Piano Works for Children), which I plan to release later this year.
I've been teaching private lessons for over 12 years. I teach all ages, but my focus is elementary-aged kids. I think that, while proper technique and repertoire are important, it is essential that young beginners enjoy playing the piano. My job is to show my students that making music is fun! And this is my goal with my album for kids, everything in that was thought to go through the mostly important techniques but always having fun and making music. Also I like to write specific material for each of my students.
My lessons include a combination of popular beginners methods, such as Leorard, Giraffe, Dose of the Day, etc. combined with musical games that teach musical theory and sight reading. I will often write music for my students— short pieces that highlight skills they are working to improve— which is something they really enjoy. Finally, I always include lessons about music history whenever introducing a new piece or composer to my students, so that they begin to understand the musical and cultural context of everything they play.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! And this is my goal, also because I work mostly with kids. I believe teaching piano is something bigger then only talk about Technic. I think is very important know my students very well, know about they backgrounds. I really like to talk about music history cause I think is fundamental the understand the context that the works were made, also is very important they learn about the repertoire, which on the piano is vast.
Daniel is an enthusiastic teacher with a real knack for connecting with his students. My 5-year-old started lessons a few months ago and looks forward to every one. Not only is he learning basic technique, but he has fun doing it.
