Overview:
Upon turning 8 years old, it had been my lifelong dream to play and teach music for a living. This of course marked the point in time when I first picked up the guitar. I was lucky enough to be taught by four phenomenal instructors - Dennis DelGaudio (Billy Joel guitarist 2009), Chris Jusino, Artie Blaurock (Sweet Revenge, Needulhed), and Rick Stone (Jazz Guitar at Hofstra University). Each of my instructors helped to mold my style of playing, and inspired me to seriously pursue what I loved the most. Performing and writing in various groups on Long Island as well as being a musician for hire/studio work (including backing Robbie Rosen of American Idol) helped serve as stepping stones for my latest and most accomplished project: FACE THE KING. With appearances at the Rockstar UPROAR Festival, Vans Warped Tour, and the CBGB Festival Main Stage, Face The King has has made a mark in numerous reviews on radio, print, and online publications. We have shared the stage with the likes of Jane's Addiction, Billy Idol, Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Flyleaf, Yellowcard, Drowning Pool, Juliet Simms and many others. The success I've had so far has given me great experience to which I share and apply to teaching my students.
EXPERIENCE
I began taking on some of my own private students around 3 years ago, and quickly fell in love with the idea of giving back to others what I have learned over my years of performing. Introducing students to the basics of guitar and their significance, as well as motivating and informing students of the importance of practice and persistence are some of the key elements I like to emphasize when teaching - especially with younger students. I also help to develop the students' ability to utilize their own creativity by coming up with their own ideas. This motivates them to continue learning as well as helping them to gain a passion for the instrument. When a student reaches a comfortable level on guitar, I encourage them to go out and perform in competitions and recitals.
METHODS USED
For students who are just starting to learn - I teach them the basics of music and how to properly handle the guitar. It is very important to know your way around the instrument, so I will touch upon basic things such as the parts of a guitar, the names of the strings, how to know where you are on the fretboard, etc. From here I will proceed to develop the student's technique so they feel comfortable enough to begin playing scales and chords. For intermediate / advanced students - I will ask what they are most interested in learning or improving upon. I base my instruction around this, all the while keeping the lessons engaging in fun regardless of ability or level.
LESSON STYLE
Watching a student progress and develop a passion for music as I did growing up is the most rewarding experience as a teacher. When it comes to how quickly a student will progress, there is no such thing as 'the norm.' Everyone learns at their own pace and I tailor my teaching to each and every student in this regard. At the end of each lesson, I give my students a goal for the next time I see them. With each goal met, I give them positive reinforcement to help inspire them to further expand their knowledge and skill of the instrument.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
