I am a full time professional multi instrumentalist having traveled extensively playing Broadway shows and worked with many of todays world class performers. I am motivated instructor in all genres of music. I enjoy working with students and sharing my passion for music. Some of my credentials include Frank Sinatra Jr., Jay Leno, Dan Akroyd, Joan Rivers, Marie Osmond, Frankie Valli, Four Tops, O-Jays, Stylistics, Phil Woods, George Young, Al Grey, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Florida, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Reading and York Symphonies.
My teaching experience began in 1980 at Russo Music in Trenton NJ. I have taught a range of students from beginners to professionals. Many of my former students have gone on to become professional musicians in their own right. I have taught at schools in the Philadelphia, Bucks, Berks, Chester and Lancaster Counties as an adjunct professor. I teach all the woodwind families. Saxophone (bari, tenor, alto, soprano), Flutes (piccolo, alto, soprano), Clarinets (bass, soprano) and Oboe. I enjoy teaching motivated, passionate students.
In my opinion, I believe in the four "T" s. The student must generate a robust tone, that's their signature. Then comes technique, fluid technique is vital. Thirdly, is good sense of time, you can't perform without it. Lastly is taste, a student must acquire an acute sense of musical taste. These four principals are essential for all levels of music performance. Once a good foundation is established, the student will have the tools he needs to take on any musical challenge. With commitment and good practice techniques, we can acquire this.
My responsibility as an instructor is to develop and refine the students musical skills. With good discipline and earnest effort the student can acquire these goals. I will personally develop a weekly regimen to meet the needs of the individual student according to their ability. I guide my instruction accordingly to keep my lessons interesting and challenging. With diligence one can attain these goals and it can be a rewarding experience for both teacher and student. I take pride in seeing my students excel.
