I am a lifelong student of music. I began playing the guitar at a very young age, 7 years old, and was playing in public by the time I was 12 years old. Around this time I took a correspondence course in Arranging from the then Berklee School of Music, which did eventually also become my alma mater and I even began teaching for my teacher. I have played and performed throughout the new England states as a solo performer and in bands/ensembles, and have had some of my orchestral works performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra, truly an achievement for a kid who grew up as a rocker. Music is my life and my passion.
I actually began teaching under my teacher when I was about 14 years of age. Since that time I've worked with young and old and done my best to give them the joys of music that everyone should have at some point. I've been very fortunate to have had a good number of students who have enjoyed great success with music as a profession. I try to impart my wisdom and experience to assist students in achieving their musical goals, whatever they may be.
I do like to lean on the Berklee methods but do supplement these materials with a good deal of additional material in theory and chords. Everyone is different so the approach depends on the individual.
I like to get results as soon as possible and stress the fundamentals as they never vary. My goal is to eventually get you playing what you'd like to be playing as soon as possible! We need to be realistic where this is concerned, but your successes will make you want to keep moving forward! Getting to where you want to be musically is the ultimate goal for both you and I.
