I am currently studying for a BA in Instrumental Studies at Columbia College Chicago
My name is David and I have been playing Electric/Upright Bass and Guitar for over 30 years, I also have been teaching Bass and Guitar for over 20 years.I have experience playing in and around the Mid-west and the UK as well. I am well versed in music theory,and have played many different styles of music, from Rock and Pop to Blues and Jazz. I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages,and I believe that each lesson is tailored to the individual student.
My teaching experience began over 20 years ago when I started teaching out of a store called Sound Post and since then I have given individual lessons to students from 8 to 80. I am currently teaching group guitar lessons through some of the schools and park districts in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
I am open to any beginning method. However, I prefer Both Mel Bay and Hal Leonard for students interested in learning theory for their particular instrument.
As stated before, Each lesson is tailored to the indivdual student. I am very passoinate about teach what knowledge I have to up and coming players beginning to advanced. I also feel when the student is ready, I am more than happy to teach them whatever song they wish to learn.
