Bachelor's in Professional Music from Berklee
Life Coaching Certificate from The Jay Shetty Certification School
I am a touring and session musician here in LA. I have had the honor of working with artists such as Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Carly Rae Jepsen, Iggy Azalea and many more. Among the TV appearances I've made I can mention: SNL, Miley's New Year's Eve, The Grammys, The Tonight Show, MTV VMAs and more. However, nothing I've done in my personal life can compare to the joy I feel when my students learn a song, a fill or just learn to love music. Some of them have graduated from Berklee, Musician's Institute, and others just see music as a hobby and I respect and encourage them all equally. I've had adult students just picking up an instrument for the first time and seasoned pros that need some new perspective. My teaching has been a massive part of my career, including private lessons, working at School of Rock for 9 years, and masterclasses in my native Venezuela and The Netherlands. As an artist, my work focuses around instrumental handpan music. Lessons are available in English, Spanish and a little Portuguese. THANK YOU!!
I started teaching right after graduating from Berklee at a school where I actually took lessons during my high school years! It was such a special experience and it made be fall in love with helping people achieve their musical goals and dreams, regardless of how big or small they are. There are few things more special than when a student wants to learn a song and we work on it, lesson after lesson, in as much detail as possible and when they finally get it... that look in their eyes is priceless! And then, we pick another song and go again!
Every single one of my lessons is individualized and focused on YOU and what YOU want to learn. Of course, there are things that I encourage such as posture and proper technique, among many others, yet I will always have a focus on MUSIC and helping you get to wherever you need to learn, not by theory alone but through putting what we learn into practice. I understand that some students want to learn the instruments themselves but without the context of how they function in music, I feel I would be doing them a disservice.
My aim is to motivate, inspire, challenge and empower you to become the best version of yourself. I firmly believe that the best way to get the best out of the lessons is to communicate and be open to listening to what each other have to say. More importantly, I feel its the responsibility of the instructor to listen to the student, their goals, needs, dreams and help them get there through whichever method necessary. There must also be an understanding of the expectations, the reality of the student's interest and practice and much more.
