I am a skilled singer, songwriter, guitar player, and audio engineer. I love pop punk music, but enjoy anything that sounds good. I have played in bands in a couple of states, and released a few different CDs.
Spending time in various praise bands has allowed me to figure out how to best offer improvements on specific techniques. Helping students realize that progress takes practice is the most important part about teaching. Individual motivation is essential to success.
I like to examine individual techniques and practice habits and make sure students know "how" to practice. Applying theoretical, and musical concepts also greatly improves performance ability among students. Figuring out how to make drills musical and fun is how I prefer to teach!
I like to begin instruction on a subject with understanding the fundamental concepts behind the techniques, and what is happening diatonically. Taking slow tempos and understanding musical ideas on a rhythmic level is essential for progress to happen. Proper voice leading, and legato movements are also ways in which to help communicate the musical idea
