2010 - Performed at The Songbook Series|Presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul's. Celebrating the work of up-and-coming composers
Overview:
I'm a reliable and motivated music instructer who enjoys introducing music and musical knowledge to children of all ages. I've been performing music for (Guitar, Piano, Vocals) 20+ years. I learned piano at a very early age from one of the most renowned teachers in New York City at the time. I've performed in recitals at Columbia University and singer/songwriter showcases on Broadway with some of today's Broadway musical songbook writers.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching guitar/piano part-time during my teenage years at a Music School in Northern New Jersey. As of now I have 20+ years of part time musical instruction experience. I mostly travel to students' homes for musical instruction which helps me stress to their parents how very important practice and routine is in musical studies. I teach a mix of classical and modern music as it motivates my students to practice with something they are familiar with. There is nothing more important than introducing musical instruction to children at an early age!
METHODS USED
For my students, I will typically start them with Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 1. Once I feel they have a handle on basic chords and techniques we may introduce a modern tune into the lesson mix and work from there.
LESSON STYLE
It is of upmost importance that I tailor my teaching method to my student's learning pace and their ability to comfortably grasp that particular instrument's technique. One of my strongest traits is my patience with students of young ages.
