Dr. Kathleen is the best violin/fiddle teacher we have seen! She is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. In just a few lessons she had our 5 year old confidently playing some songs by ear and also reading some music. Her teaching methods have been very effective. Not only has she helped our young, new beginner, she has also helped our 12 year old two time state fiddle champion. She has helped her prepare some difficult new fiddle pieces, adding in many special extras, and we can’t wait for the next fiddle championship. Dr Kathleen has been so encouraging as she has corrected many of the wrong habits my daughter had taught herself from not having a real fiddle teacher and learning mainly YouTube lessons. Our youngest should be able to start competing in the peewee division at the next competition also! We highly recommend Dr Kathleen Lavengood for anyone who wants to confidently and correctly learn the fiddle (or violin)!
