I graduated from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in 2018 with a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy. I studied percussion primarily in college, but also studied voice and piano during my time at Baldwin Wallace. During my undergraduate career, I performed with the Baldwin Wallace Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Baldwin Wallace Orchestra, and Baldwin Wallace Percussion Ensemble. I have been playing piano for 16 years, playing flute for 12 years, playing percussion for 10 years, and playing guitar for 5 years. I have worked with a large variety of people in teaching music and also have a lot of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching music while I was in college. Although I was not an education major, I did take education classes and learned a lot about pedagogy during my time in college. I have experience teaching beginning percussion-intermediate percussion on mallet instruments, snare drum, timpani, drum set, and orchestral percussion. I have taught music theory/piano to many students over the years. I have provided many of those students with the skills to set them up to continue learning independently or to seek out learning new instruments. My experience teaching guitar and piano extends to those with disabilities and learning adaptive techniques.
METHODS USED
I am very much a people person and enjoy adapting my teaching styles to the individual. Some people want to learn a very specific style of music, and others are open to learning everything. If the student does not read music, I always try to encourage a few lessons of just learning music theory. I find it very beneficial, even if the student just wants to learn guitar chords or tab. It also makes learning other instruments much easier! I expect students to come prepared each and every week and I also like to challenge my students to do their best.
LESSON STYLE
I am very much a goal-oriented and visual person, so I like to set clear goals for my students. I like to get to know my students personally and create a more open relationship. Some students learn much quicker than others and that is okay! But, I do always encourage my students to progress using proper techniques to prevent burnout and any injuries. I am very flexible with my students and will always adapt to the way they learn best. This is the benefit of being a therapist and also a well-rounded musician.

Miss Elizabeth is fantastic! She has been teaching my daughter piano for the past year, has been flexible, and has adapted to my daughter's needs.
