Overview:

I am a Voice, Piano & Choral Direction educator with strong background and more than 30 years of experience widely recognized also as an accomplished and Choral Director as well as a composer and arranger of international prestige. Many choirs around the world and of course in USA sing my compositions and arrangements regularly. I have worked my whole life with children but also with adults giving my classes in English as well as in Spanish with some notions of Catalan Italian and French. I have many adaptations of music that I have composed and arranged in Piano and Voice to help my students to play and sing the music they love; as they say, "This that, and the other music... all the Music!

EXPERIENCE

I have more than 30 years of successful teaching experience. In my lessons I try to create a pedagogical environment of great quality, encouraging my students making them feel stimulated, respected and confident. I believe that my success as a teacher is based in the tailoring of the teaching to the conditions, circumstances and goals of the students, guiding them with enthusiastic encouragement and respecting them taking into account their personal unique characteristics; each student is a world in itself and I like to see their smile when they realize that it is true what I told them, yes, you can!

METHODS USED

I always adapt my teaching to each student. I do not believe in general systems for everyone. Sometimes my students want to have a repertory as exclusive as possible. Also, as a teacher, I have to reinvent myself in order to maintain always burning and bright the light of the motivation and enthusiasm. This is especially important when you have a student with special needs. Then you have to be even more creative, and stimulating. There are very good methods of teaching but I try to personalize the repertoire to each student making versions specially adapted to their possibilities, which are while they expand their knowledge. My students always set a goal. It can be simply playing or singing on a birthday, participating in a talent show or may be just playing for themselves!

LESSON STYLE

I think that what defines me as a teacher is the enthusiasm and faith that I have in my students, sometimes, more than what they have in themselves! This is especially true when you have professional adults in all fields of human knowledge that, due to various personal circumstances, have sacrificed the possibility of playing an instrument and / or singing. It is really beautiful when you see the excitement that is given to them, especially when they have given their children that opportunity! As I have stated above, I create a special plan for each one of my students in order to comply with their desires, circumstances and goals.
