BM, Westminster College, Music Education Concentration in Clarinet
I am a passionate music educator who loves working with students and sharing the joy of music. I graduated in May 2015 from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education with a Concentration in Clarinet. I have enjoyed playing with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra on Bass Clarinet and playing in other ensembles. I have also enjoyed teaching saxophones and clarinet sections in Pittsburgh area marching bands.
I began teaching private lessons part time in high school. I have been teaching for five years and I have been consistently teaching students in their homes and at my studio at Westminster. I have encouraged regular practice, especially in younger students so they can develop their skills and passion for music.
I will use whichever book students are using for their band class in addition to Rubank books. I will begin by teaching fundamentals using these books, then I continue to teach solo repertoire.
I make sure to teach each student at his or her pace. I love to see students succeed and enjoy their lessons. I also make sure to encourage students to keep going if he or she is having a tough time with a concept or skill.
