I'm an experienced singer and musician with a large background in performing, music theory, and writing music. I studied piano for 12 years and have been singing my whole life. I have studied musical theater, opera, classical, and pop music over the years. I've performed in many musicals, operas, and cabaret shows throughout high school and college, and have been in a number of pop/rock bands from 2010 to the present. I've been teaching students voice and piano for the past three years. I'm a kind and compassionate individual who loves to help students reach their maximum potential.
I've been teaching for the past 3-4 years, and have gotten a lot out of it. I like to make sure the student is enjoying him or herself as well as learning as much as possible in the process. I cater to the desires of individual students and am open to trying new things as well. If there is interest, I can help others write and record music as well as teaching them to sing or play piano. I have the most success working with students from the age of 11 to 17, but I'm open to trying other ages as well. I look forward to sharing my love and knowledge of music to any interested students!
I cater to each students indivual level of experience and start teaching based on their initial level. As long as the student is learning and having fun, I'm doing my job. It's all about each persons' desire, drive, and ability level. I work hard to hone in on each students individual needs, as they vary greatly based on age and experience. I have knowledge and repertoire for all sorts of genres, including musical theater, pop, country, opera, rock and more. I have 10 years of private teaching experience, and especially with girls ages 8 to 25 on voice, and anyone at all on piano!
I tailor to the desire/ ability level of each student accordingly. Depending on how hard a student is willing to work, I conduct the lessons in an appropriate matter. I learn what the student loves about music and try to work from there so that the experience is meaningful, advantageous, and fun. Sharing music with others is incredibly important to me as a person. Music can bring people a sense of accomplishment and joy for the rest of their lives, that can become a truly valuable part of themselves and their future.
