B.A. Classical Guitar, UC Santa Cruz
Instructors:
Mesut Ozgen, Randy Pile
Overview:
Eric is a consummate multi-instrumentalist and composer. He enjoys writing in many styles, drawing inspiration from eccentric legends like Mike Patton, Tom waits, and John Zorn, to name a few. He is especially interested in using the song as a medium for self-expression, taking every opportunity to forge vintage aesthetics with an ever expanding arsenal of technology. His most recent projects include Josey Wails, Rusted Chain, and Sixty Slang. He has studied Classical Guitar Performance and electronic music at UC Santa Cruz and Mira Costa College, working with Randy Pile, Mesut Ozgen, Peter Elsea, Mario Gonzales (Prince, Christina Aguilera), Sheldon Tarsha (Adler's Appetite). When not completely geeking-out musically, Eric enjoys goofing around with his six year old daughter, surfing, and checking out local music.

LESSON STYLE
My lessons include a combination of scheduled curriculum, improvisation, and composition. In my experience students learn best when they are excited about the material at hand. My students therefore play a vital role in determining their course material, which when combined with general training methods, provides a more integrated learning experience. By reinforcing the educational experience with proven learning strategies, I create an environment that is both fun and challenging for students of all ages.
