Overview:
After various performing opportunities in high school, I started my journey to become a music educator at the University of Miami in 2007. My participation in choral and theatre ensembles has taken me around the world practicing my passion and mastering my craft. I currently produce classical music concerts in addition to teaching private lessons. Throughout my singing career, I have had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall and Geffen Hall in New York, the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, and various locations throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ecuador, and Spain. In college and graduate school, I studied voice under Ricardo Herrera, Dr. Tony Boutté, and David Malis.
EXPERIENCE
I have taught private voice lessons to students of all ages and levels since 2015. I began teaching music in public schools in 2011, while still performing on the side in choirs, a cappella groups, and theatre ensembles. As a singer, I have made it a point to sing in as many styles as possible - I have performed in classical choirs, jazz ensembles, contemporary (pop) a cappella groups, and even a salsa orchestra. I have also developed skills in English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Russian, Portuguese, and Hebrew diction. (And if any of my students want to sing in other languages, I am always excited at the opportunity to learn proper pronunciation in new languages!)
METHODS USED
A vital part of developing voice repertoire is exploring various interests and styles. I encourage all vocalists to choose songs that they will enjoy singing, but I will guide my students in exploring any realm otherwise not explored. I encourage healthy singing and practicing techniques that will ensure productive rehearsal without fear of vocal damage. A professor of mine used to always say, "there is no singing without acting", and I ensure that when a student sings a song, they will not only know how to sing properly, but they will also have a deep understanding of what they are singing about and how to convey the message.
LESSON STYLE
Voice lessons are for the growth and benefit of the student; therefore, my goal as a teacher is to push my students to be the best they can be. While I may use anecdotes of my own experience in lessons, I am helping my students to become future versions of themselves and not my own clones. While this will be challenging work for students, I always make time in a lesson for students to feel successful, as this will ensure future progress and provide satisfying closure. If done correctly, the results of hard work and determination should be the most rewarding feeling one can feel.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
