Overview:
I am very passionate and love teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. After graduating college in 2011, I started to teach full-time and during this time I learned so much on how to go about teaching people of all ages and different musical backgrounds. I taught in various music stores, I later started my online teachings. I later moved to Philadelphia from Alabama, since I've been here I've started online teaching and playing music gigs with various bands. I will continue to push myself to be the best I can be.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience started back in 2008. Before I even went to college for music. I learned a lot of theory on my own but I went to college to further my knowledge. I have studied orchestra arrangement, Serialism, as well as Classical, Jazz and Rock music. I am most experiences in Rock / Metal music. I've been playing Metal since I was about 13 and I started to look at more complex music when I was about 16. Once I graduated college I started to teach full time at various music stores. I later started my online teaching.
METHODS USED
For beginner students, I usually start off with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once they start to progress. I will move them on to some songs / tab books by their favorite artist. For Intermediate students, I will move them to Guitar Fretboard Workbook by Hal Leonard, as well as Arpeggios for the Modern Guitarist, and a signature Lick book. Once they started to become Advance. I will start them on something by Ear Training using online methods as well as, A Modern Method for Guitar by Berklee Press for Sight Reading.
LESSON STYLE
I encourage people to do their best as well as go at their own pace. I set goals, If they exceed those goals in a week or 2 months, It doesn't matter, as long as they are trying their best. I make up games for the little ones, such as, having them to do online games involving music. For older students I try to still involve fun activities such as teaching them their favorite songs. I also, use Guitar Pro in order to teach those said songs and tab it out for them. I will either print it off or email it to them in either PDF or Guitar Pro files
