As a cellist and pianist, I have enjoyed an international performance career as a chamber music player, soloist, and string orchestra musician. As a performer, I love chamber music and soloist playing, both music paths that I have been cultivating and expanding. My love for teaching comes from the uncountable great life lesson from my music teachers that I wish to give back. My education conveys the traditional and contemporary techniques of teaching and playing with the goal of performing. Passionate to teach, I joined Musika Lesson to create a bilingual studio, English and Spanish speaker students, cello, and piano students alike of all ages.
I began teaching music very soon after I got my piano and cello. First, I give some educational concerts, before playing I explained a little the pieces' background. During my Bachelor's degree, I had the opportunity to work in some academies in Merida, Yucatan. I was the teacher of piano and cello and teaching to some beginners who were starting from scratch. In 2019, I enrolled in the Master's degree at UTRGV, performance track. I had the opportunity to be the leader of the cello section, where some of my responsibilities included preparing the cello section with weekly sectionals for performances, as well as playing the cello solos in the orchestra. I believe that music lessons should have the performance as a goal, but actually enjoying each day of practicing. In this manner, the performance is the culmination, and a celebration, of a worthwhile journey.
For a creative activity, I encourage my students to relax and have fun while learning about the nuances of the music playing to comprehend the relationship between the theory and the performance. I believe that music learning is just like the alphabet, learning each letter by the time. My personal goal is to teach my students how to be performers and play beautiful music on the concert stage. A concert can be as little as one piece in a family dinner or a gig in a teacher while learning that we can captivate an audience and drive their emotions with our music.
I believe the early years of a music beginner are the most influential time to develop healthy technique habits and a love for music. For that reason, I provide a positive experience by being attentive to the student's needs and aspirations and adapt my teaching accordingly. For more advanced students, I interview them to plan a syllabus for their desired results and schedule their classes accordingly. Should any student want to pursue higher education in music, I can help with auditions, university requirements, etc.
