I was born in the U.S.A. from a Chilean marriage. I began my musical journey at the age of 12 next to a vertical Piano at my parent's house. At the age of 16, I learned how to play rhythms on my younger brother´s (Fernando) toy drum kit, and later got a real drum set and began my first band "Insigne" (Progressive Rock) as a drummer. I studied Composition and Musical Arrangements at Escuela Moderna Institute of Chile (2002-2008). At the age of 23, I traveled to the U.S.A. and studied Afro-Beat rhythms along with other African beats. Back in Chile I became a member of many different bands such as Uruz, Tréboles, Avioneta, The Zulus & Casi Famosos, and began my career as a Musician, Event Producer. I develop a great interest in sounds and Synthesizers. In 2010 I starts Armando Jarana Production Company participating in more than 200 live shows. I also participate as a session keyboarder for the bands the Tiro de Gracia and Glup, among others. Currently, I work as a Music/Event Producer, Composer, and Live/Studio session musician.
"Music is more than just a passion, it´s a lifestyle that can´t be heard if you don't VIBRATE with it." Fran Vives.
My experience with music goes back since I have memories. Music has been in my life and family and this is why I decided to become a professional musician and study hard to improve my skills and knowledge. My first piano lession I had 10 years and my first professional keyboard I was 15. Drums came along with my brothers toy drum to finally buy a real kit. All my brothers are a musician and it really helped to open to different styles and concepts. Played live more then 500 shows and produced 5 albums and lots a single tracks.
My method is to have fun to make the student feel motivated and challenge to learn and get better with the instrument. There is no recipe to improve your skills than just practicing and practicing.
My teaching style will be depending on the student's demands first. Then I will teach the skill I feel he needs to improve. Once lessons are going I will propose diference kind of material and bassed on the student's interest I will focus my lessons. The most import thing for me is having a happy and motived student. If a student is not feeling the instrument is because he is not having fun. Also, I like to challenge them with homework and songs with a 3-month goal. If they succeed I will push the mark higher and higher.
