Overview:
I am very passionate about music and believe everyone can learn some music. I enjoy many different types and styles of music, I earned my associate of arts from eastfield college before finding double majoring at Cedar Valley College. I have played in several ensembles and a few different rock bands in my time. I am pursuing my Bachelor's degree from University of Texas at Arlington. I have studied many different instruments like Piano, Guitar, Viola and Vibraphone.
EXPERIENCE
Throughout college I have taught freelance to different students. I have helped peers study and work through new pieces. I maintained a private student schedule while also continuing my education. I have been playing guitar and piano for years and am well versed in many different styles
METHODS USED
My methods for new students is to find out exactly what level they are at and accomidate. I have a collection of different books for children and for older students we can dive right in to a certain style. I do believe that every musician should have a stong understanding of the foundations. With a stong theory background I can push students to where they want to go.
LESSON STYLE
I truly believe that if students are happy and enjoying what they play they will want to practice and sound better. I encourage students to try classical but we will dive into a more modern approach. Original compositions can also be a fun great way for students to want to practice. I also have a strong music theory and technology background to really make sure they are amazed by understanding the world of music.
