I'm a very relatable and knowledgeable music instructor who uses innovative tactics to enhance my student's ability to learn and create awesome music. In 2003, I graduated from the prominent SUNY Music Conservatory of Schenectady County Community College with a heavy concentration on Piano and Vocal Performance. I also graduated in 2018 from LA Film School with a concetration in Music Production. Both experiences changed my life greatly and gave me even more knowledge and skill in teaching music to my students over the years.
My musical journey started at the age of 4 years old. I started on the drums in my father's church. I went on to start playing the keyboard/piano at the age of 6, learning from great musicians along the way as I grew. At the age of 9 I started teaching vocals individually and adult and youth choirs for the next 30 years. Throughout the years while teaching, I continued enhance my performance ability by learning from great and prominent artists like Gospel Music greats like, Twinkie Clark of the Clark Sisters, Richard Smallwood, John P. Kee, LeCrecia Campbell, Fred Hammond, and Kim Burrell. I've amassed a great wealth of knowledge over my 30 plus year music journey and am eager and ready to share it with whomever's ready to learn.
I have the ability to be sensitive to and match the learning pace of any student at any age, regardless of any learning challenges. I very much believe that anyone can learn any craft in music if they're willing to put in the work. Every lesson is engaging, fun, highly informative, inspiring, and musically advancing. Students can learn just about anything they'd want to learn from very innovative angles that are often tailor-made to the individual student's learning ability. Each student can learn vocal and piano/keyboard proficiency, as well as song writing and production; all very broad ranges and fields of music learning.
I enjoy seeing the rewards of hard work that a student and I achieve. I take joy in using my musical learning endeavors and experiences to educate my students. we start by finding out their desired path, past experiences, current influences, and use these things to map out a plan. From the plan we determine what we'll be learning. Some things may or may not be core or necessary to thier path of learning what they'd like to learn. So, we learn everything that will get them to their destination and nothing that they can't use. This concept of learning is essential to keeping the process fun at all times.
