I try to learn as much as I can from all my influences and express it in my own way. Music is a deep reflection of a person’s personality. It’s taught me Discipline, Patience, Commitment, and a deep understanding of myself. Music should be shared with others, so get out there, jam, listen to the greats and learn. There are no limits on what you can achieve if you dedicate yourself.
I have several years of teaching experience and have been teaching professionally for 8 years. I am very passionate about the guitar and always strive to get better myself and to become a better teacher. This translates well to my students and encourages a steady practice routine.
I use the "CAGED" system on guitar as a way to navigate the fretboard and understand the patterns on Guitar. I always put a strong emphasis on being able to learn a song by ear and understand the theory behind it. For younger children I use the Hal Leonard Method book to give them the ability to read Music. I teach all styles and advanced lessons including Ear training, Theory, Chord Building, Modes, Scales, and Technique.
I set goals for all my students and encourage them to find their own "voice" on the instrument and use their inspirations to develop their own unique style. It is important that a student is working on something they enjoy so they stay motivated and encouraged to practice.
