I am an instructor whose own passion and personal relationship with music allows for a one-of-a-kind student-teacher experience. I attended Loyola University New Orleans as a Jazz Studies major from 2008-2011, taking a 3 year sabbatical to perform and tour with the two bands I co-founded. Both of these groups commanded a prolific performance load in and around the greater New Orleans area and surrounding cities and states. In 2017, after returning to Loyola, I became the premiere graduate of the new Bachelor of Science in Popular and Commercial Music program, where I received my knowledge of the business side of the music industry, all the while never ceasing my musical performance. After this, I natur5ally gravitated toward music production, mostly record engineering. After recording and releasing six professional studio albums, I have the hard-earned experience to both help you develop your instrumental prowess, and if you chose to, the next step of music composition and record production. All of this, combined with my affinity for Adobe platforms like Photoshop, Light room, Premiere Pro etc., I can help any music student at any level with virtually any aspect of the music business.
My approach largely imitates the ones employed on me when I was first learning, and carries all the way through my college years of private instruction. I use a medley of great music books that I find to be crucial staples of learning foundations, as well as mu own musicology textbook that I've been writing and adapting for years. Students will be expected to practice and learn scales, arpeggios, and other basic music theory. Degree of difficulty will be based on the individual's personal wants, needs and prior knowledge.

I feel that making music is a multi-faceted ability, and as such should be approached this way. A crucial component of helping a student develop their own passion for music is a self-awareness of all of their artistic interests, and exploring other art mediums in conjunction to just practicing is essential. I try to assess a student's abilities, wants, and needs to create a hand-tailored program of success, set at the speed of your own learning! In doing so, the vital teaching aspect of positive reinforcement becomes easy; students gain pride and are happy with their accomplishments, creating the desire to repeat the rewards of creating something beautiful and successfully meeting goals. Learning as much about all of a student's artistic interest's is integral to my own success, in my own understanding, and education that follows.
