I started playing Violin when I was in second grade after I went to an orchestra performance and fell in love with the music. I've been in several orchestras since, like the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I picked up several other instruments along my journey as well like guitar, bass, and drums. I currently am working on an electronic music project called "Witchbrew" while still playing guitar and violin for fun as much as I can. Hopefully I can be of great help to you and show you some of the techniques I've picked up from my teachers.
I started teaching in high school because I was trying to save up money to buy a lot of new music equipment. I taught on and off for about a year. I really enjoy helping people realize their potential and showing them how to unlock a piece of music that a first may have seemed almost impossible to learn. I encourage my students to go out and play for as many people they can so that they can lessen their nerves and learn about music performance which is an important aspect in the musical career world.
For beginning students I may introduce some Suzuki Method, but I mainly like to focus on technique making sure everything with the hands and posture is correct which will make it easier to learn more advanced techniques. For more advanced students I will show them how to use etudes to their advantage and some good practice techniques along with how to learn a piece from start to finish. If I feel like you have surpassed my level of expertise I will definitely let you know. Hopefully we will be able to learn from each other.
I like to show students first, visually and audibly, how a piece or an excerpt goes that way they can begin to learn it already knowing a basis. I try to let students play through their pieces as much as they can so they can become adjusted playing through an entire piece and not just small segments. Of course, I will let you know which notes are needed to be fixed and timing issues as well so they when you play through again you think about those specific things and try to correct them. I will change my methods according to what I think will best help you!
