Overview:
I completed my Master's degree at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the guidance of Prof. Tamara Gabarashvili (Tchaikovsky competition 5th prize 1966). Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." I actively perform chamber music, give solo concerts and participate in different music festivals. To expand my teaching methods and technique I completed Music Education Advanced Certificate program in Brooklyn college. Playing cello and teaching music is not only my job, it’s my passion and it’s simply my life.
EXPERIENCE
I have experience in teaching private cello lessons, music school teaching and kindergarten music lessons since 2004, I also have a big experience as a cello performer: Soloist with Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater (Tbilisi, Georgia) Soloist with Chamber Orchestra "Concertino Tbilisi" (Tbilisi, Georgia) Soloist in TV project "Maestro" (Tbilisi, Georgia) Cellist  and actor in One Act Ballet for three dancers and three solo instruments dedicated to Nina Ananiashvili 30 years stage celebration "Tampopo"  (Tbilisi, Georgia)  Cellist in Zviad Bolkvadze project "The Stairways" (Tbilisi, Georgia)
METHODS USED
My lessons are tailored to the needs of the student. I like to have my cello on lessons because playing together with student is the most effective way to teach, Once the student has progressed he/she then has a big choice of cello repertoire masterpieces also I enjoy playing duos with my students, I teach music theory essentials, sight-reading, music history, and anything else that helps you to learn. .
LESSON STYLE
I truly believe that its never too late to start, and anything is possible. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing people develop a passion for music. The biggest gift we can give our students is an education that is student-centered. In order for students to learn, they must be involved in their own education and have a say in what they are learning and how they learn and demonstrate that learning. The best learning happens when it is cooperative and collaborative in nature, letting students learn from each other and become more actively engaged in their learning. I plan to take into account my students’ interests and learning styles as I teach, as well as provide students with multiple means of demonstrating their learning.

Giorgi has made learning cello even more fun. From the sympathetic, "It is hard" to the precise, "Be careful about the curve of the thumb" he has strengthened learning in every lesson, without being overwhelming. He started playing a little duet on only the 3rd lesson or so, which made me feel, even as a beginner, that I'm already starting to make (occasionally screachy) music. He has suggested a variety of drills and practice techniques which have also sped up the process a lot. And he has a good sense of humor and surprising amount of patience.
