I was a music teacher at a K-8 school for 6+ years and taught voice, glee club, and musical theatre. I have experience teaching most styles of singing and also teach piano, guitar, and ukelele. I truly am passionate about teaching and love to help students find their own unique voice. I've found that teaching students what they want to learn is best. I teach all styles of singing and teach in a way that is healtlhy for the voice and avoids vocal damage. If you do have vocal damage, I can work with you to sing in a healthy way. I'll help you with auditions, competitions, or just singing for fun and learning new skills! I also teach both guitar and piano and will teach you how to read chords so you can play just like your favorite stars! If you're interested in composition, I can help you with that as well. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages and all skill levels!

For beginners with voice, I teach students about the voice and how to sing healthily. It is very important to learn how your body works and how to sing properly without damaging your voice. Next, we will practice vocal exercise to teach you proper technique. We will the move on to learning repertoire that is age-appropriate. We can sing repertoire of any genre or style- your choice! As we continue, you'll learn and expand your repertoire and learn how to sing properly, prepare for auditions, perform, and be confident on stage. For beginners with instruments, we'll learn basic music theory, fundamentals of the instrument, and how to accompany yourself if you'd like to sing with your instrument.
