Overview:
I am patient, passionate, self-motivated and responsible teacher. I am also an effective instructor with the ability to create a fun-filled atmosphere and develop strong rapport with students and parents. In 1997, I graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor of Music Education. I have been working as a classroom teacher and a private tutor for the last fifteen years in many countries, including Egypt, Dubai, and the U.S. I was able to do many concerts at the schools I worked at. I teach piano, guitar. I am planning to have my first recital for my guitar and piano students this year. Thank you and I look forward to meeting and teaching you!
EXPERIENCE
I teach music at extracurricular programs in many elementary and pre schools across the Northern Virginia and Maryland area. I also teach piano and guitar in my home studio in Fairfax. I feel qualified to teach children, age 5-18, and to do so in a way that each child feels happy, special, and encouraged. I have gained many skills over the years and the most valuable skill I gained is how to make students love the instrument they play! Be kind and understanding with my students build a very nice relationship between us which I like the most in my job.
METHODS USED
For beginners, I use Alfred's books. They are very easy to understand. Alfred's Book Course are the most valuable books I have ever seen. I use Alfred's: lesson book, theory book, technique book, notespeller booke, and recital book. I usually make sure to include recital book as we are going to start our first recital this year. I also make sure that we alternate between lesson and technique book every lesson. And, we also alternate between notespeller and theory book. For beginners, we start preparing for our recital after the first two month of our start!
LESSON STYLE
I always encourage students to study and practice on a regular basis. This greatly helps them make progress and like the instrument over time. Nonetheless, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. My homework sheets are designed to address both of those points. I always encourage them to practice well; when they practice well, they improved and once they improve they start to like the instrument more. I always use the books that are easy for students to understand. I love my students and I always like to inspire them:)
