Overview:
I have been singing since early childhood and have been playing the guitar for 16 years. I love music and I also love teaching (I am an elementary school teacher). I believe that anyone can learn to use an instrument as long as they are driven to succeed and give it a valiant effort.
EXPERIENCE
I have taught guitar lessons for 6 years but this is my first year teaching with Musika.
METHODS USED
I like to teach guitar the way that I learned how to play and that is by personal interest. I began by finding, picking and learning songs that I wanted to know how to play. I encourage my students to come ready with songs that they are interested in learning because I feel that this increases the drive and interest to learn when a student is working on something that they are invested in.
LESSON STYLE
Each lesson is completely differentiated in order to provide the most specific and unique instruction to each student. I will introduce new methods of playing such as new strum patterns, finger picking, and new chords. We will work with these as needed in order to ensure that the student is moving forward and improving over time. If a student needs more help in one area than another then I will devote more lessons to the needed area and less time to the areas that the student feels comfortable with,
