I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I started teaching since 2008 and taught various range of ages and levels. I love to help people who wants to learn and enjoy the music. I studied Piano performance and Piano Pedagogy at West Chester University. I also studied Collaborative Piano at University of Colorado. I am starting my Doctorate degree in Collaborative piano at CU Boulder this fall. Can’t wait to share my knowledge of music with you all!
I started teaching in 2008 when I started college. I started couple of young students who were very beginners which was very fun! I love how creative young kids are. I learned a lot from my students. I also taught in music academy for a long time and it was totally different experience than private students teaching. I learned a lot about how to manage/teach many students in short amount of time. I also love to see my students enjoy the music AND improve their skill and they are happy with the results!
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with my own theory/ method system and then move on to the existing method books. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I try to experiments with reps and methods with each students for the best!!!!
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop a passion for music and enjoying the music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I also teach sight reading skills, music theory.
