Overview:
I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1998 I graduated from Music Concervatory in Lithuania and have a piano digre in performance. Teaching over the world has been one of the greatest experiences in my life. I had a great opportunity to perform with my students at the biggest concert halls in Manhattan and Long Island. Every year I have 30-40 students performing on the stage. Students play piano solos and duets. Singing is an option as well.
EXPERIENCE
I have about 25 years of teaching experience. I have been teaching at music schools with a variety of skill levels and musical instruments. I love children, and they love me. I always feel that I am welcome in students' homes. After every instruction with me, I encourage students to practice on their own. I can tell if there is progress or not. Children should be playing and enjoying and having fun during lessons. Prior to the start of lessons, the skill level of each student will be assessed and I'll create a lesson plan that is right for each student.
METHODS USED
For beginners I start with Nancy Fabers books. There are colorful pictures and notes and easy steps on how to start to play and enjoy. I had a very successful year with Nancy Fabers materials. Once the children know the music alphabet, they can play any song they like. With advanced students, I start from what they know already and continue to explore all musical elements. I like to choose appropriate grade level music that the child would like, whether it is a classical or pop song.
It is very important that student would like what he plays. He has to play and enjoy.
LESSON STYLE
I set realistic goals for my students at each lesson. I like to demonstrate how to play- usually I count while the student plays, which helps with the beats. We may sing together or separate the note names or the song words. Every music phase requires different input.
Students who struggle with note reading, get additional note reading and writing books.
Depending on music difficulty, I prefer to learn the right hand melody first, then left hand. At the end to connect both hands together.
Appropriate levels must be chosen for each student.

A very nice, intelligent and profesional teacher. My girls can not wait for piano lessons! Amazing! My girls didn't know anything about piano, in 1 year they started to play both hands and started to write their own music! Thank you Ineta!
