I am professional musician with Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance and Music Education from Mykolaiv State Music College, and a Master Degree in Music Art from Mykolaiv National University, both located in Mykolaiv, Ukraine (UA). I was born and educated in Mykolaiv, UA, and speak Russian, Ukrainian and English languages. Music is my passion since I started learning at a very young age. I've had the privilege of studying under music teachers who were highly accomplished musicians, whose instructions incorporated lessons focused on European and Russian classical music style. I feel like my educational training, and subsequent music teaching and live stage performance has help sustain my passion for sharing what I've learned with others.
I've taught students of all ages, five(5) and up, and abilities for more than 30 years. The curriculum at N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Children's Music School in Mykolaiv helped me prepared my students for earning high scores on their academic music examinations, participate in annual national music competitions and programmed regional music recitals , with several of my students winning first place awards and continuing their pursuit of becoming a musicians at the post- secondary education level. I've directed church choirs, and taught voice lessons for more than 10 years.
From 5 to 8 years old, the lesson takes place in a playful way. Easy hand exercises, simple rhythmic patterns, pieces with polyphonic elements. From 8 to 12 in the program there are scales and exercises by L. Ganon, J. Bach, W. Mozart, P. Tchaikovsky, and K. Cherny. Additionally, I include exercises at the intermediate skill level for mastering improvisation, playing with elements of jazz, and playing by ear. We learn popular children's songs. Tailoring my lessons to the individual’s musical aptitude and level of interest has contributed to my long-term success as a music teacher. By tailoring my lessons to the individual, I’m better able to facilitate an atmosphere where students come to enjoy their educational experience to help build an effective program that meets their personal ambitions. Over the years I’ve learned when ambition is paired with application, the resulting outcome can be very fulfilling.
