I have taught privately over the summer of 2014-2016 orchestral percussion and marching band. I am the current percussion director for Middletown High School. Along with that, over the summer I also teach the front ensemble for Washington High School. And am currently teaching front ensemble for Western Frederick Indoor Percussion. I love teaching any bit of percussion that I can, whether it is marching, orchestral, or drum set. I love seeing the joy people get playing music and percussion. I especially love when they come prepared to learn something new, even if it happens to be a bit of review.

For beginning students, I usually start with rudimental percussion grips and playing. I usually go off of Stick Control. Once the student has progressed further, I will judge how far along they are and customize they're learning abilities with their exercises and repertoire to learn. For adults, I try to find what genres they are interested and see how far along they are technique and music wise. I like to cater all of my teaching styles to each individual. I love to break down how people learn and finding books and repertoire that follow that.
