I have almost 30 years of experience as a recording and performing musician. I studied in Detroit, London and Los Angeles, and recieved my BA in music and Performing Arts in 20011. Since then I have made a living writing pop songs and movie soundtracks, performing and teaching. I consistently write 5 songs a week, and then select and develop the best material into a finished product. I continue to study all aspects of music from theory to technique to composition and performance. I chose to pursue music because it is a field that never gets dull since there is always more to learn. I believe the best teachers are also excellent students who never stop learning themselves.

I teach all levels and my methods depend on the age and skill level of each student. Everybody learns differently and has different musical goals so I stay open-minded and tailor my lessons on an individual basis. for children and beginners, I focus on technique and very basic theory to get them started playing the songs they like. For intermediate students, I assess thier current skil level and breadth of knowledge so i can then help them expand and solidify thier musical groundwork. Then i guide them in whatever way they want to apply it rather it is performance, composition or academic. For advanced students, I help them fill in the gaps of thier knowledge and technique so they an master thier craft.
