ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

School of the Arts, HS Diploma Eastman school of music, Diploma Suny Buffalo State, BA Music performance

Overview:
I am a new music teacher currently looking for students. I recently graduated from Buffalo State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music performance. I enjoy playing music and perfecting my craft. I find performing a great way to express my passion and emotions. I had the experience of performing at the annual jazz festival and Heritage festival that takes place every year. In the future I hope to travel playing in pit orchestras and eventually performing in the Gateway festival. My solo performance includes works from Malcolm Arnold, Mozart, Sait Saens, and many more.
EXPERIENCE
I am a new teacher currently looking to start my career. My teaching experience stems from my lesson experience. I have been taking private lessons since 8th grade and each of my teachers showed / told me the most useful methods. I also understand that not everybody learns the same and having various methods is helpful. I know from experience, that consistency is important to make progress. Setting a regular practice schedule is important and knowing how to practice is as well. My music repertoire ranges from classical, jazz, up to Pop music and modern composers.
METHODS USED
My method changes depending on the person. Everyone will begin with learning their basic major scales and then we'll proceed to minor and diminish. Arpeggios will also be included in scale warm up to help with muscle memory. Depending on the level, I will then pick an etude book to further their technique. This will help them with muscle memory, speed, and even in theory. Etudes are a great way to practice sight reading skills and expression. Solo repertoire will be introduced to better them as a performer and prepare them for a recital if needed.
LESSON STYLE
I believe in setting achievable goals. Music is suppose to be fun and that's how I want the lesson experience to be. I express this by not stressing my students out, and letting them know what is needed to be done. I encourage all accomplishments, no matter how little because this can inspire them to do more. Different techniques will be used at first to determine what is best for the student. I'm aware that adjusting my teaching style is needed in order for one to be successful. I also think it is important to get to know my students in their regular life. The more comfortable they are, the more progress can be made.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
