I'm a fun, laid back, and passionate instructor who loves to teach and pass along the things that I have learned from my 25+ year career within the music industry. I have been a professional songwriter for the past 15 years and have written for both major and independent publishers. I have over 120 accredited songs recorded by some of Country Musics biggest stars. Along with my professional experience I have mentored, coached, instructed, and taught songwriting, beginner guitar, and music production for the past 10 years.
My teaching, instructor, and coach experience started around 10 years ago when I began mentoring aspiring songwriters for Nashville Songwriters Association. This led to coaching, and instructing, songwriters of all levels both in one on one and group settings, all the way to songwriting camps. I recently began remote teaching within these areas while also adding beginner acoustic guitar, and music production. I can help you become an "all in 1" musician, composer, producer, with a fun, and exciting approach, to keep it fun and not feeling like school. I look forward to adding more students to my schedule and helping take my students to the next level.
I will teach you step by step while also passing along "tricks of the trade" that will help you gain the edge over other songwriters at your level while also teaching to your needs. My teaching is laid back, patient, and fun, but dedicated to making you the best songwriter you can be. I will start you form step one in reference to music theory and work our way all the way to having you become fluent in any of the above areas you choose! Lets get to work on getting your songs recorded or just showcasing them to your friends and family!
Whether you've never written a song or you're well on your way to making it a career, my major focus is on songwriting in all areas from songwriting 101 to advanced commercial radio songwriting. In depth focus on every area of songwriting from form and structure, to melodies, ideas, and hooks. I am also available to teach acoustic guitar to help you get started creating and finding melodies that will help you obtain fully finished songs both lyrically and melodically, to make you an all around songwriter. I can help you take songwriting to the next level, who knows, you may even end up making a living off of it. How cool is that? I'm experienced in home recording with a focus on Pro Tools from set up, to getting you fully fluent in recording your very own demos. I can help lead you in the process of having songs demo ready to play for your favorite fans or that publisher you have dreamed of writing for.
