I am a fun and passionate music teacher! I love teaching music to beginners of all ages! Everyone is born with music inside them. I will teach you the proper techniques necessary for piano and your voice. We not only learn the fundamentals but also about different styles and genres and how music imitates life through sound. For piano, I teach the basic and crucial skills including proper fingering, posture, note reading, music theory, ear training, and rhythm. You can learn how to play your favorite songs! I am a voice coach for speech, solo singing, chorus, and theatre. We learn how to use our body and voice to deliver clear messages. You learn how to breathe properly an control muscles for singing and speech. Learning is fun and you are guaranteed to learn something new after every practice.
I have experience giving In Home Private Voice and Piano Lessons. I have worked in various schools for Piscataway Board of Education as a Pre-K Music Teacher, Music Camp Councilor, Enrichment Music and Keyboard teacher, Group Toddler music teacher, and a Teachers Aid. At Branchburg School of Music I was a private voice and piano teacher age toddler to adult. I taught group Pre-K music classes there weekly. I was also the administrator handling scheduling and booking. My experience goes back to childhood. I began taking piano lessons at age 8 and have been studying music my entire life. I am also a songwriter and performer.
There are lesson books I prefer for Beginner Piano: Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts for age 3-5- All Alfred beginners books age 3+ The Alfred d'Auberge Piano Course I* A Dozen A Day - (start with the mini book before book 1) - by Edna_Mae Burnam I have created thousands of music lessons using games, books, flash cards, and imagination. My teaching philosophy is learn by having fun. Your growth and your practicing is up to you. I teach you how to teach yourself and we learn every step together.
As a music teacher I believe I have a responsibility to be your coach and your guide. I will take every step with you. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and give you all of the tools you need to grow as a musician. I love to reward my young students for their hard work and practicing. I give praise for every accomplishment and teach you about your mistakes to make them accomplishments. One of my favorite things to do with a student is Jam! I encourage every student to be independent and find their voice and express themselves so we always leave even just a couple minutes for some free play by yourself or with me!
