Overview:
I graduated from California State Univeristy, Fullerton in 2012 with a Bachlor of Music in Violin Performance and graduated from Orange County School of the Arts in 2007 in Violin Performance. I had many opportunities to perform in Southern California as a musician. In Summer of 2014, I was invited to perform as a chamber musician in Germany which had been one of the greatest experiences for me as a musician.
EXPERIENCE
My first teaching experience was at age of 14. I was asked from the Korean Language School to teach the students as an extra curriculum. Since then, I taught private students for 12 years and studio students for 3 years.I also taught in youth orchestra for 10 years which can help the students to do better performing in their school orchestras as well. My main goal for teaching is to have students love playing music. I want students to be interested in playing violin and music by introducing them to various style of playing (solo, chamber music, and orchestral music).
METHODS USED
For beginning students, I start with Gerald E. Anderson and Robert S. Frost's All for Strings. Once the students made progression in basic fundamentals, I use the Suzuki Methods Books and Solo for Young Violinists by Barbara Barber. Along with that, I introduce the students to the chamber music so that the students learn to play with others. For adults, I try to provide the students in their interested music so that, playing music is fun and entertaining to them.
LESSON STYLE
I feel very good when I see that my students are enjoying and making progress in their playing~! Therefore, I help my students find their goals to help them see their accomplishments and achievements as well.
