As a teacher I can help you grow your abilities on your instrument. Help you achieve the cool warm sound you want from the saxophone. Help you get the dexterity on the instrument you need. And get a more broad understanding of how music is played and created. Throughout my career since I was 16 years old I have taught children, teenagers and adults from beginners to advanced levels. I hold a Masters degree in jazz, composition and teaching from The Rhytmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and have also taught several courses there and at other distinguished music conservatories. I have myself received lessons from some of the worlds leading jazz musicians like , George Garzone, BIll Evans, Reggie Workmann, Kenny Werner, Dave Liebman and many more.
I believe in using your ears as the most important tool. Which means I believe in playing music rather than reading it. Growing up playing music by ear. I prefer this way of teaching and only use sheet music as an assistant to help the student get to a certain goal. As a teacher I can help you grow your abilities on your instrument. It is important for me that the student is motivated and enjoys the lesson since they have to keep loving playing and practicing at home everyday to be able to progress properly. Learning music as learning anything is about exploration and repetition. Once you understand something you have to be able to do it correctly a few times before moving on. This can only be achieved if there is a certain amount of practicing involved. Not nessecarily a lot but a bit each day can create magic. The teacher is just a facilitator of ideas and motivation for the student to be inspired by.
