Overview:
Hello! My name is Jeremy and I enjoy giving brass lessons to students of all ages and ability levels. At my studio, I can give lessons in piano, bass trombone, trombone, tuba, euphonium, baritone and Trumpet. Enthusiasm, patience, persistence, and good communication skills have all allowed me to help brass players understand their musical challenges and live up to their potential. I am a personable teacher who enjoys developing positive relationships with my students. My love of music and my experience as a performer and teacher can help you or your child grow as a brass player!
EXPERIENCE
I have extensive experience in teaching private lessons to elementary, middle and high school students in the various brass instruments for many years. I have myself taken lessons from professional orchestra players and professional jazz musicians. I have played in a variety of performance settings including various high school and college jazz bands, college orchestra and band, opera pit orchestra, baroque ensemble, trombone choir, vocal choir and middle school band. My post-graduate playing experience includes various community, church and semi-professional orchestras. My playing experience has shaped me as a teacher and the variety of my past performances can help you improve as a student. I'm always looking for new students and I believe my experience can help you!
METHODS USED
My goal is to help you or your child improve as a brass player and as an overall musician. I have extensive training in music theory and history to help foster a greater understanding and appreciation of music. I can help players from beginner to advanced gain a greater understanding of their instruments along with the fundamentals and technique to improve both technically and musically. Lessons are tailored to the needs, desires and goals of an individual student. Music, at any level, is enriching to the lives of the people involved in it, and is a fantastic social lifelong activity.
LESSON STYLE
I believe that music should be a satisfying endeavor. Learning music should be a great balance of having fun in the moment, and the joy of seeing oneself grow and progress as an artist over time. I meet each and every student at their own level, wherever that may be, and help them grow. I like to talk to each student or parent about their goals in music with the understanding that many have very different goals. I try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible for all of my students. In my teaching, I like to have a strong focus in fundamentals while still fostering an enjoyable and entertaining lesson atmosphere. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing one of my students progress and meet their goals as a artist/musician.
