At age 13 years old, I started playing the drums, first with private instructions with some of the greatest drummers in New York City such as Gene Krupa, Cozy Cole, and Rufus Bede Jones. I played in High school Band, University of California Jazz ensemble. I toured at many schools. I was on the same teaching staff with Tony Williams, Steve Smith and David Garibaldi. I teach all styles of drumming. I even prepare to go to Berklee School of Music in Boston. I have road touring and studio experience.
My experience as a drummer is tihe following: i am professionally trained by some of the greatest and famous drummer in the world. I started taking private lessons at age 13. When i was 16 years old, I had my first recording contract with Decker Records, only after studying for 3 years. They were one the most of famous Record companies. When i was 15 or 16, i started playing professionally with Jazz bands and Rock bands in the New York area. After getting out of high school and playing with the band in high school, i then play a lot in the Philadelphia area and Atlantic city where i performed with the Beach Boys and also with Sammy Davis, Jr. At that time, i was in a rock band which toured all up and down the eastern seaboard.
I teach students the scales of the drumming. I teach all of the 40 international drum rudiments. Also, i teach students how to sight read drum music. I teach them ear training. I also teach them about how to be extremely versatile on the drum set. I also prepare them for the Berklee School of Music in Boston or the North Texas Music College which are two famous music colleges. I also teach double bass drum. I teach many odd time signatures, four way independence. I teach out of the most educated drum books that all of the great drummers have studied. I also encourage my students all of the great drummers on recordings and videos. Here are the books that I use: Here are some important books: a) Louis Bellson's Snare drum book; b) Gene Krupa, Cozy Cole Sensational Drum Book; c) Jim Chapin's Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer; d) Ultimate encyclopedia for the drum set; e) George Lawrence Stone's Stick Control
Lessons are given on two drums sets: instructor and student. I fulfill the needs and desires of the students and make them progress as a musician. I inspire them in this way. I also stress to my students that there are no short cuts to become a great musician like taking drugs and alcohol. My philosophy to them is that anything that you want to become good and great in, you have to work hard for. I also tell students to consider practicing as something that you want to do and enjoy and not that you have to do.

As an instructor he will see areas immediately you could work on. Cool guy and your playing could only improve under the guidance of a master drummer like himself.
I have been taking lessons from Jerry for several years and making a lot of progress in my ability to play the drum kit and percussion instruments. I drive 100 miles to take the lessons from a music professional Jerry. Jerry has taught me rudiments, rock, funk jazz, swing, bossa nova, beats, rolls and is teaching me to site read. This is helping me train for the Danville community band. I have been recommending Jerry for drum lessons to my friends.
I have been taking drum lessons from Mr. Jerry M for few years. He is an excellent teacher and amazing drummer who can make any band sound fantastic. I have watched him teach children and was amazed at his level of understanding as to how to deal with kids IN different stages, made me wish i had learned from him from an early age. Thank you Mr. Jerry M!
I've been a drum student with Jerry M. and I started with him as a beginner and I have studied with him now for over 3 years and every now and then for occasional tune-ups and still we can get together and jam because I do play the drums and I jam with other musicians now thanks to Jerry. So I have been able to apply everything that I've learned from Jerry which was that it gave me a solid drumming foundation and the expert knowledge that you need that I've learned as how to play all the different professional drumming techniques and styles in music. The training from Jerry is one on one and you practically can grasp all these drumming skills when you can learn from a well rounded expert teacher and with his expert drummer's repertoire. Any one serious about playing and learning drums or traps I turn them on to or refer them to Jerry M.
