Hello! My name is Jessica and I am a passionate and motivated music instructor that loves changing lives through music. I am a Full Sail graduate (Recording Arts & Music Business) who continued my education in child and adolescent psychology (M.S.) to allow me to fully understand my students on a developmental and cognitive level in order to ensure the highest level of success per child. I have performed in bands in my younger days and received ample superior medals but now I focus on managing our youth musically to help mold successful young adults.
I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. When I graduated I started to see my joy was working with children and helping each individual get to their own "next level" and that is when I began teaching music privately. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals of which I help with the prep for and can conduct them there if need be.
Typically when I begin with children I incorporate the Hoffman Method and Books such as the Little Mozarts books, Alfred, Faber and Master Theory. I allow for children to learn fundamentals in a fun way so they can begin to read music and perform if they are interested. Students get to learn the basics like Mary had a little lamb, hot cross buns, jingle bells, and other fun tunes. Classes are also available for older beginners interested in learning classical or other styles. For adults, I begin with the Master Theory Books to teach fundamentals. I then dive into whatever style they are interested in learning to begin learning to play full-length pieces.

My teaching style is one of the many things that sets me a part from other teachers. I work to create a fundamental relationship with my students to find out what their goals are, what specific level they are at currently, and where they want to take their talents. Once I’ve discovered these essential things, I work with my student at their own pace of comfort and challenge to allow them to learn the things that interest them as well as continue to develop as a musician. I do this with a smile and confidence to allow my students to be comfortable with me when developing their skills. I find this also aids in the learning process which is my #1 Goal! She is very good music teacher and my son likes her a lot. She is very nice with kids
I really like working with Jessica. You can tell she is passionate about her work. She is friendly and has helped me learn rather quickly (I'm an adult). I never give anyone 5 stars so don't let that discourage you.
The first lesson went really well. She is very knowledgeable. I am looking forward to future lessons.
Jessica has a great connection with my 12 year old son. She knows how to encourage him to "get that note" without him realizing what he has done. She is very easy to work with and I admire her teaching technique and knowledge of music.
Jessica has the skills to teach children of different ages. My kids love her. If you're contemplating to start or which teacher to choose, give Jessica a try; you won't regret it.
