Hello Future Students! I am the teacher everyone is dying to work with! I am working on my masters in Music Education at CUNY Hunter college. While studying, I teach private lessons daily to many different students. I am not your normal teacher. Who wants normal? I am fun! Lessons are designed by you! We learn, we progress, and we succeed, and are always smiling! Looking forward to working with you!
I have been teaching since finishing High School in 2007. I have worked in piano group lessons and private lessons as well. Currently (not including Musika), I have fifteen private students I see weekly and have been with these students for almost seven years. I have worked with students preparing for NYSSMA, students preparing for College Music audtions, or just teaching piano as a hobby. All of my students would describe our lessons as fun.
I have no "standard" method of teaching. I have use of massive resources and don't require my students to buy books. I feel that if you are enjoying the pieces you are working on, then you're more interested in your lessons. I work with you to create the perfect lesson for you. Of course, we learn the basics (scales, sight reading, etc). but as far as the "hard stuff" we work as a team!
My teaching style is flexible depending on your needs. If you need a more strict style (perhaps you are working on college audition), then I'll make sure you have the proper technique, repetoire, sight reading, and skills needed to succeed. If piano is more of a hobby than a career path, we can work with that as well! Everyone has a different style depending on their needs.
