I've started teaching way back before I got into Berklee College of Music, when I was already teaching my younger brother who was 4-5 at that time. Then when I started teaching was about 4 years ago. I never realized how much both the teacher and the student could learn at the same time, not only I learnt how to teach people better, but I also kind of learnt music in different ways by teaching it in different ways to different students. It made me understand music in a fuller perspective, and a more all-rounded knowledge. And I'm excited about that every time when I teach.

For voice, I want all my student to understand the importance of fundamental to singing. Therefore, My method of teaching voice is typically work on the fundamentals, the breathing, the preparation before singing, then I want give them exercises and And for piano, beginning students who are children, I typically start with Faber's Musical Adventure. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. But I always believe that the right way to teach should always depend on the student. Therefore I will always adjust my methods according to the student.
