Overview:
In 2012, I graduated from The Peabody Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin performance with Ms.Violaine Melancon. I also earned a Masters of Music degree in Violin performance/Peadagody with Mr.Herbert Greenberg in 2012. As a violinist, it is an incredible experience to perform on the stage and gets applause from the audiences. I wanted to share that experiences with students so decided to teach more students. I always seek the way to motivate my students and broad their musical ideas so they can enjoy playing music on the stage.
EXPERIENCE
I have been consistently giving private lessons since 2009 while I was in college, The Peabody Conservatory. I have completed my student teaching as a string specialist at Elkridge Landing Middle School and Elkridge Elementary School in Maryland. It has been a wonderful experience, allowing me to become skilled teaching music in public school setting. After my student teaching, I taught at Glenwood Middle School and Tridelphia Ridge Elementary School as a string orchestra director. In addition, I have been teaching for TWIGS and OrchKids in Baltimore, which are outreach programs that provide lessons to inner-city school children. Since 2014, I have served as the youth orchestra conductor at Global Mission Church.
METHODS USED
It all starts from fundamentals such as having good posture, listening to correct intonations, and learning bow technique. I believe the more students play scales and etudes such as Kayser, Wolfhart, Kreutzer, and Suzuki, the better they would become as a musicians in the future. As the students master the basics and get to know their violins, we'll move on to more advanced topics such as music theory and music history giving them all the knowledge needed to play complex pieces within just a few years of holding their violins for the first time.
LESSON STYLE
I seek to empower my students by providing a high-quality musical education through goal-oriented, individualized instruction. In order for me to shape my students into the musicians, I need to match my teaching style to his or her learning style. This means that I must be flexible and willing to learn from my students, just as they are learning from me. I believe that the desire in young people to succeed at music comes from a love of music. As a teacher, it is important to find a balance between nurturing that love, and pushing for improvement. By having students work together with their friends and colleagues, I would motivate them to love music and reach a common goal.
