Overview:
I'm 21 years old from Mexico City. I’m a touring and session musician, guitarist, songwriter, arranger and composer. I graduated from Musicians Institute on Music and Guitar Performance, awarded the Synester Gates Scholarship. Having the opportunity to play with the masters such as Steve Vai and led a solo with his band, Paul Reed Smith, Scott Page (Pink Floyd), Carlos Alomar (David Bowie), among others, taught me things for the real life as a musician. Attending clinics for a variety of styles and artists helped me to develop different skills and the will to share the love for music. I'm an EMG, Yamaha and LINE 6 artist and product tester. I’ve toured all the U.S twice having over 70 live shows on the road. I have performed in L.A 60-70 gigs. My total of lifve shows is around 140. I’m part of a worldwide community of female musicians and guitarists among the best of the world. I have participated in benefit performances, recording sessions, directed music bands, got experience teaching guitar and bass lessons for all ages in English and Spanish.
EXPERIENCE
I started teaching friends from middle school who had no music background at all. I found out it was cool explaining what I knew and it was not only helpful for them to learn but also for me. I kept attending lessons until I moved out to study College in L.A. While I was attending college, I kept meeting with people to study and explain some topics , classes, and techniques. I kept giving lessons for guitar and bass in english and spanish, preparing beginners to learn a setlist and musicians to go on tour. I like combining practice and theory so it is balanced. I like motivating them and if they get stuck, I try to keep the lessons interactive or find something fun to play and learn so they don't feel discouraged or feel like quitting.
METHODS USED
I started teaching my friends in school who didn't have any experience playing guitar. I can combine material given with a variety of books for an appropriate and interactive experience that can help any student to understand a topic and apply it while playing. My goal is to give students anything that fits their needs.. I try to explain the roots of where the theory comes from. I was always looking for a reason behind it while I was in college. Later on, I started giving bass and guitar lessons, preparing students to perform live and even go on tour. I'm patient and adapt to the student's need and pace. I enjoy explaining and even learning because I believe teachers learn from the students as well.
LESSON STYLE
I enjoy playing all music genres in general but I enjoy the most playing and teaching metal, rock, blues and jazz blues. No matter what level you are, I’d love to help you improve your playing, technique and knowledge. From basic chords to different chord voicings, scales, modes, exercises, finger strength, speed, arpeggios, reading, music theory or ear training, I look forward teaching you and sharing passion for music. Seeing that students get motivated makes being a teacher worth it. I want to inspire the student to improve and enjoy music and enjoy playing.

Jimena F.is a great guitarist and an amazing teacher! I first met her when we went to Musicians Institute together, and got to know her and learn from her when we toured the U.S. together. She was very helpful in rehearsals teaching guitar, bass and keyboard parts. She also helped me perfect my technique when playing and switching chords on the guitar. Jimena is a patient and kind person which shows through her teaching; Make no mistake, anyone who wishes to have Jimena as their teacher will be challenged to reach their full potential.

Hi. I took lessons with her and she was so nice and adapted the pace to me. I'm an intermediate guitar player and I enjoyed my class time.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
